Vimeo’s amazing staff has each picked their favorite 12 videos from 2012 and listed them for us. And they’ve got a lovely micro-site to go along too.

Vimeo’s already one of my favorite sites to spend on these days and they still don’t giving me reasons to love ’em even more.

Apple TV to be Launched in India for Rs. 6990: BGR.in

BGR.in’s Rajat Agrawal with another scoop about the Apple TV this time:

Last week we exclusively reported that Apple was planning to launch its Apple TV in India. However, we were sketchy on details about when Apple would launch it and at what price. Multiple sources have now confirmed to us that in all likelihood Apple would launch the Apple TV in the coming fortnight for Rs 6,990.

With the launch of the iTunes Store in India, this isn’t surprising. The Apple TV is a great little device (I got mine from the US) and also makes for a great AirPlay receiver if you own one or more iOS devices.

Flashing Stumps & Bails in Cricket when Dislodged

This is the newest innovation in cricket, introduced at Australia’s Big Bash League. The stumps and bails have a sensor that lights up red as soon as they’re dislodged, accurate right down to 1/1000th of a second.

iTunes Store comes to India

Apple today has announced the launch of the iTunes Store in India and 55 other countries. With today’s launch, the iTunes Store is now available in 119 countries around the globe.

In India, the iTunes Store brings Movies and Music to the Indian audience. The content is reasonably priced — Songs are Rs. 12-15, Albums are Rs. 72-120, Music Videos are Rs. 20 while Movies start at Rs. Rs. 80 for rent or Rs. 290 for purchase.

Cheetahs Running at 60+mph, Shot at 1200fps

An incredible crew from National Geographic and the Cincinnati Zoo have documented cheetahs, the fastest running animals on the planet, running at speeds over 60 miles per hour and have shot them using cameras recording at 1200 frames per second. The result is some amazing footage of the cats running in slow motion, showing just how far their reach is and how their muscles must be reacting.

Justin Blanton points to this video that shows how it was shot.

New iPhone 5 TV Ad — Orchestra

Even when the world gets noisy, iPhone 5 with noise canceling lets you have a better phone call.

Yet again, a simple, brilliant ad by Apple for the iPhone 5’s noise cancellation feature from the camera at the back.

There’s also another new TV ad called ‘Turkey‘, right in time for the Thanksgiving holidays in the US, but I love Orchestra more.

Angels Landing

“Since 2004, six people have died falling from the cliffs on this route.” is what the sign says. Only one step from a 1400 foot fall.

“So we decided to hike our camera gear up there and show you what it looks like.”
