Quora: What are the best stories about people randomly meeting Steve Jobs?
A small collection of stories of different people and their quick encounter with Steve Jobs at work or elsewhere. It’s fascinating to read about him in these, so very different than what we’re used to seeing him as in the media.
Evernote has been readying v5.0 of their Mac App which will feature a completely redesigned User Interface and over 100 new features. They’ve put up this teaser video to give us a glimpse of what’s coming.
I use Evernote on the Mac as a dump of all the information I think I might need later and it has been a great tool so far. I’m looking forward to this new version.
A Fantastic iPhone App for Car Owners
Drive is a fantastic app for iPhone that makes commonly used actions like calling or texting your favorites or playing music while driving easily accessible by giving you big bold buttons to tap on and gestures to control them. If you drive a car with your iPhone docked on the dashboard or windshield, you should definitely grab it. It’s just 99 cents on the App Store.
In 2007 I left Apple and started my own company. In 2010 that company was acquired by Twitter. Today I’m giving it another shot. Say hello to atebits 2.0.
My goal is simple. Make things. Fun things, useful things, new things, improved things. Some may be popular, some may be failures. But I love creating, so that’s what I’m going to do.
Loren shook the App Store when he launched Tweetie for the iPhone and then turned it upside down with the launch of Tweetie 2.0. He single-handedly changed the way we look at Twitter apps (can you image an app without pull-to-refresh today?), so this is one of the best news I’ve heard in 2012.
His upcoming app, which is in fact a game, has already been submitted to Apple. I’ve been playing with it all this week and I can’t wait for you guys to check it out.
You can tell I’m very excited.
A Look Inside Google’s Data centers
Google is offering a fascinating look inside all of its datacenters, which house the bulk of all the data that the search and email giant possesses.
For the first time, we’re giving everyone a glimpse into where we run our products. Now you can take a virtual tour of one of our data centers in Street View. Or browse photo albums of the technology, people, and places that keep Google’s products running.
There are some incredible photos and a ton of insight about what goes on in their datacenter. I love the way the pipes are colored in some and the locations Google has chosen for some of these.
