The much awaited, latest and greatest version of Apple’s Operating System for the Mac is now available on the App Store. If you buy it using this link, I get a small kick out of it.
There are a lot of reviews out there, so I have picked out a few that I think you should definitely read.
I have been using it for the last 8 days, and I’ve been pretty happy with it. It feels like a solid release, what OS X Lion should’ve been in the first place. Unlike 10.7, Mountain Lion does not feel sluggish at all. The new additions like Dictation and Notification center are nice, but I’m yet to start using them extensively. Overall, OS X Mountain Lion is easily the best version of OS X so far, and is available at just $19.99 on the App Store.
EpicEditor Plugin for WordPress
EpicEditor is an embeddable JavaScript Markdown editor with a superb feature-set including split fullscreen editing, live previewing, automatic draft saving & offline support. My friend Sebastian Nitu has put together this plugin that brings EpicEditor & all of its functionality to your WordPress compose view.
The plugin adds a third tab called ‘Markdown’ right next to the Visual and HTML tabs, so you can compose your posts right in Markdown and preview them with a single click.
Go ahead and try it out, you’ll love it.
Welcome to India. To make our country a little more familiar to you, we present ‘The Hinglish Project’. Through this unique font design, you can tell the phonetic sound of a Hindi character by looking at the corresponding Roman letter superimposed on it.
What a brilliant idea. I don’t think this is intended to teach you Hindi, but instead, just make you aware of the phonetics of the language. The font is downloadable from site in .ttf format and you can even purchase Merchandise or a handy phrase book if you want.
I’m kinda surprised this came out of Govt. of India’s Ministry of Tourism.
Google’s New Ad for the Nexus 7 — Camping
I loved this ad. It is very well done and almost looks as good as an Apple ad, so kudos to Google. There is no mention of specifications, the ad purely highlights the UX of the device and the emotions it results into.
I love this YouTube comment on the video:
I was curious about data connection too until I saw they were camping right outside of there home!
WTPh? (What the Phonics) is an interactive installation set in the touristic areas of Copenhagen. Street names in Denmark are close to impossible for foreigners to pronounce, so we did a little intervention :-)
What a fantastic idea.
Photos from the National Geographic Traveler Photo Contest 2012
An incredible collection of some amazing shots taken all over the world. These photos are some of the best photos I have ever seen. Make sure you set the option to display them 1280px wide.
Earliest known photos of an Apple iPad prototype
Yoni Heisler dug through some court filings from the ongoing Apple vs. Samsung case and was able to pull up some photos of what could well be the earliest iteration of what we now know as the iPad.
It looks a lot like a display was added to the bottom of one of the white polycarbonate MacBooks Apple had.
